Start with where the light comes from
A front-lit sign uses light directed onto the printed face. A backlit sign places illumination behind a suitable printed face so light passes through it.
The existing structure may already support one approach. Share complete site photographs before assuming the frame, lighting, or power can be reused.
Inspect an existing structure first
Photographs can begin the discussion, but structural condition, wiring, and reusable components may require a site review before the scope is confirmed.
Compare the site and viewing conditions
Record the main viewing direction, distance, operating hours, surrounding light, elevation, and access. These factors affect legibility and installation planning.
Artwork should be reviewed for the chosen lighting method. Colour, contrast, seams, finishing, and the visible frame can change the installed result.

Give each supplier the same dimensions, photographs, artwork, lighting requirement, finishing, installation location, and deadline.
